The black and whitephoto is of Fiona, one of my 8 or 9 fosters over the past 18 months. A beautifully bred basset, she was probably a $2,000 puppy who had to be given up by a doting owner who lost his housing. (Fully 1 out of 4 dogs are given up because of housing issues.)
She now lives in the Oakland Hills, overlooking the Bay from her own chairin front of a large picture window... living the life!
Foxie (the sleeping dog, above) is my in-residence rescue from Golden Gate Basset Rescue. Her owner surrendered her, possibly because she had developed severe skin allergies. We think she is allergic to carpet (I have none, disliking is as much as Foxie) and we know she has an absolute allergy to corn, possibly all grains.
She is thriving in a no-carpet, no-grain household, She's a pistol!
Feel free to send all pet photos (any breed, cat, dog, parrot, lemur, ostrich, whatever critter you love and loves you) for me to post. We are universal; this is an equal opportunity pet loving blog.
